Join the waitlist

Many families choose to join our waitlist to receive early access to upcoming Painted Blue Aussies litters. Joining the waitlist allows us to stay in touch as we plan future pairings and welcome new puppies. When puppies arrive, waitlist families are contacted in order as selections begin.

The waitlist fee is $500, which is non-refundable and applied toward the purchase price of your puppy.

The first pick of every litter is reserved for Painted Blue Aussies.

Puppy selections typically begin after six weeks of age but usually closer to 8 weeks of age, when we are better able to evaluate temperament, structure, and each puppy’s developing personality. At that time we help guide families toward the puppy that will be the best match for their home and goals.

The waitlist fee may be forfeited if two suitable puppies are passed over or if two years pass without selecting a puppy.

While we are happy to consider color or gender preferences, we cannot guarantee puppies based solely on color or gender.

Reserving a Currently available Puppy

Occasionally we have puppies available without a waitlist. When this happens, families may reserve a currently available puppy with a $1,000 non-refundable deposit.

The deposit secures the puppy and allows us to mark them as reserved while final arrangements are made.

Families who select a puppy from the waitlist may either pay the remaining portion of the $1,000 reservation deposit at that time or choose to pay for the puppy in full.

The remaining balance is due three days prior to pickup or transportation or may be paid in cash at the time of in-person pickup.

We are always happy to answer questions and help families feel confident in their decision before placing a deposit.

Puppy Selection

Puppy selections begin once the puppies are old enough for us to properly evaluate their development, temperament, and structure. Initial evaluations typically begin after six weeks of age, with final selections usually taking place around eight weeks.

This timing allows us to better understand each puppy’s personality and potential so we can help guide families toward the puppy that will be the best match for their home and goals.

Families on our deposit waitlist are contacted first to discuss the puppies that best match their preferences and lifestyle. Once contacted, families are given a few hours to review the available puppies and make their selection.

After waitlist families have had the opportunity to choose, any remaining puppies are then made available to the public.

Bringing your Painted Blue Aussie Puppy home

Most Painted Blue Aussies puppies are ready to join their new families between 8 and 10 weeks of age, depending on each puppy’s individual development and readiness. Occasionally, smaller puppies may remain with us slightly longer to ensure they are fully prepared for their transition to a new home.

Prior to going home, puppies receive their veterinary health examination, appropriate age-based care, and continued socialization to help them begin life confidently with their new families.

Final payment is due three days prior to transportation or may be paid in cash at the time of in-person pickup.

Pick-up and transportation options

Families are welcome to pick up their puppy in person, or we are happy to help coordinate safe transportation options.

Airport Meeting
Families may fly into Utah and meet us at the airport for a same-day fly-in / fly-out trip. Airline carry-on pet fees are typically $100-$150 for the flight home with your puppy.

Fly Nanny Service
A trusted flight nanny may accompany your puppy in cabin to your nearest airport. Typical costs range from $650–$1,000 within the continental United States, depending on travel logistics and time of year.

Ground Transportation
Families are always welcome to drive and meet us in person, and we are happy to discuss reputable ground transport options if needed.

Going Home Timeline & Policies

To ensure a smooth transition for each puppy, pickup or transportation must be arranged within seven (7) days of the puppy’s designated release date.

If pickup or transportation is delayed beyond that timeframe, a boarding fee of $50 per day will apply. Boarding fees must be paid in advance.

If arrangements are not made within a reasonable timeframe, Painted Blue Aussies reserves the right to cancel the reservation and place the puppy with another approved home.

Reservation fees are non-refundable. If a reserved puppy must be rehomed, any payments beyond the deposit may be considered for refund only after the puppy has been successfully placed in a new home. Expenses related to the puppy’s continued care — including housing, advertising, and veterinary care — will be deducted before any remaining balance is returned.

From the very moment of their birth, our puppies receive loving attention and thorough socialization, allowing them to grow accustomed to various sounds, smells, surfaces and indoor / outdoor environments. We go the extra mile by initiating litterbox potty training and commencing crate training at an early stage. These efforts not only foster a comfortable transition but also set the foundation for smoother training, benefiting both you and your Australian Shepherd puppy or Mini American Shepherd puppy. Your new furry family member will have a solid foundation!

Preventative Care

Our Australian Shepherd puppies and Mini Aussie puppies are meticulously cared for, and undergo a regimen of deworming medication, age-appropriate vaccinations, and a comprehensive examination conducted by a licensed veterinarian to ensure their optimal health before they embark on their journey to your loving home. Your puppy's well-being is our top priority.

Registration and Microchip

Your Australian Shepherd puppy or Mini Aussie puppy will be provided with both registration and microchipping for an added fee of $50, in addition to the purchase price.
